Year 372 Summer 81, 16:40
We decide to sleep anyways. The boy must have been scared off by such ferocious adventurers. Afalar stands watch. The blistering pace we had set, and the lack of sleep had taken its toll though. Soon Afalar too was sleeping soundly. When the bandits crept up, untied our horses and began to lead them away, not even Volorn heard them so soundly did we sleep.
Then a noise was made and Afalar and Volorn both woke to see our horses being led over the hill. We were surrounded by 7 bandits, 4 of them archers and one a huge man wielding an axe.
...
Zali'haro stands alone. Volorn is panting nearby. Sjer and Afalar lie unconcious. Five bandits lie dead, including the large man.
Zali begins gathering the leftover gear and equipment and then climbs up a tree. He then gathers firewood and starts a fire. Soon the lions come. Volorn wakes up and drags one of the bodies away from the fire. The lions immediately feed.
Throughout that night and the next they pick off one body and then the next. Finally Sjer wakes, feeling lousy but alive. After a few minutes spent healing we continue on foot. We find our way to the road and continue on to the east.
We find a couple of villages and get food.
As we travelled farther we met two men on horseback. One a shadowmage and the other his guard. The mage stops and comes back and questions Afalar about his heritage. Afalar gives the name of his father and tells of two older brothers who had already joined the Assembly.
After another few hours we reach another town, the town of javalem. We are to ask Tavij for horses and the guards name was Feral.
We buy horses and supplies and head out. We arrive in Ocalmalm on the evening of the 88th.
