The names in this document supercede those in all other documents, eventually everything will be justified.
A Brief Timeline of the City of Lie'lm
The timeline begins when the founding stone of Lie'lm was carved. The
Founding Stone is inscribed with the charter of the council, the names of the first council members and activities of the first 300 years. This stone is now placed in the Tulr'ail'alm'al as a reminder of the traditions of the city.
Two dates are used on the timeline. The calendar dates of the founding (FY) and the calendar dates of the prophet (YP).
FY 1 - The eleven communities on and around the islands create a council for the purpose of mutual defense, governance and developing infrastructure.
FY 5 - A stronghold is built on island number six. It was created with a permanent water cisterns and provisions for up to a year.
FY 9 - The council creates a common holding area for the eleven communities to help distribute food.
FY 15 - Wooden bridges are built to connect island 6 to the riverbanks.
FY 114 - The Kurdrun help with the construction of stone bridges to replace the wooden one on Island Six.
FY 137 - The island communities called themselves the city of Alokarn and establish a semi democratic community. Only men and women who are over 60 years old are able to vote for the members of the Council and the Generals. Any person over the age of 40 was able to hold office. The two Generals over saw the defense of the community and the council members governed the day to day operations of the city. Any large-scale action was put to a vote of all eligible members.
FY 156 - The City of Alokarn begins a great period of growth and development. Trade agreements are implemented with other communities up and down the river. Over the next 200 years many bridges and buildings are built.
FY 217 - Alokarn extends its influence up to 50 km sphere around the city. Alokarn creates a navy and uses it to enforce its trade agreements.
FY 278 - Alokarn territorial and economic influence is extend up to 100 km up and down the rivers. It levies taxes within its sphere of influence.
FY 501- Alokarn and Kofira engaged in an economic and military battle that lasts 12 years. Alokarn is victorious and Kofira signs over many smaller cities and territories.
FY 563 - Kofira enters into an alliance with the kingdom of Hurkan and the two wage a protracted war against Alokarn. As the war rages many satillite states and cities rebel depriving Alokarn of vital revenues and military muscle.
FY 589- Hurkan invades the city, burning and looting treasury and raising many building in the process.
FY 590 - The Kingdom of Hurkan renames the city as Turnengarn. The Kingdom of Hurkan begins the rebuilding of the city and use it as its Eastern capital to its growing Empire.
FY 692- A bitter civil war in the Kingdom of Hurkan allows the City of Bridges to rebel and gain its independence from Hurkan. The hero and leader of the rebellion is Cat'nalis'ah'ran. The people rename the city Cat'inalis in her honour. Cat'nalis'ah'ran is given the title of Queen and democratic traditions are maintained by the process of electing the council.
FY 715- Seeing a weakened Hurkan and only a fledgling state, the Citystate of Kofira attacks Cat'inalis. Once again Cat'nalis'ah'ran leads her people in defense of the city and resist the invasion.
FY 722 - Cat'nalis'ah'ran dies and the entire city goes into mourning. There is no clear sucessor.
FY 731 - 737 Periotic clashes with the Empire of the Tiger
FY 737- Cat'inalis is defeated by the Empire of the Tiger and is renamed Olikorna.
FY 792 - Ji�damaragar is built.
FY 809 - The Governor of the city declares independence from the Empire of the Tiger. A three-month war gives the Governor the independence he fought for. He returns the name of Cat'inal to the City of Bridges
FY 882(1 YP) - The Prophet I'alm Sil'aj reveals the words of Chal to the Milar.
FY 895 (14 YP) - The Milar now control Kofira and the City of Cat'inal attacks Kofira unsuccessfully.
FY 898 (17 YP) - The Millar defeat Cat'inal and enter the city through guile and internal treachery.
FY 931(50 YP) - The Empire of Tiger lays siege to Cat'inal. The siege is only lifted by relief forces led by the General Gur'than Ur.
FY 948(67 YP) - The territory of the Milar is name The Pirem Empire (this includes the Cat'inal. Cat'inal is named as the capital of The Pirem Empire and renamed Lie'lm.
FY 1254 (372yp) - This is the current year of game play
