Current Alm is Ij’mal’ail Hijai’ail Armalis
Political situation: supports Alm Jas'caj (AlmJascaj?)
Military situation: At war against the forces led by Alm Saip
The Alm Armalis maintains a permanent force of 300 soldiers. All are calvary. At this time, 120 warriors are with the Alm’s son El’sha’ail fighting the Heretic rebellion. Another 140 are in the south fighting the forces of Alm Saip. The remaining 40 are scattered in the various forts/fortresses in the Armalis lands. If required levies can be recruited from the general population. These will be infantry. The levies will be drawn from the towns and villages and farms. Many will have to arm themselves and will have spears, shields and 30% will have bows. At times the Armalis have been able to convince the wandering tribes to help them in exchange for cattle, booty or some other thing. The Armalis family has used mercenaries in the past. However, they are currently difficult to find due to the recent conflicts - many are gainfully employed.
People of the Armalis lands
The lands of the Armalis are best suited for grazing and foraging. The lands near the streams are the best farming areas. As a result all farming is near the streams and rivers. The open areas are devoted to grazing, goats and cattle.
· Most of the farmers are bonded to the Armalis family 50%, 30% are slaves and 20% are free people.
· The Herders are 70% free people and 30% slaves (generally watched by the free people)
· The Wandering Tribes (the Dorulos & the Uzorlo) are a group of nomadic people who are a mix of hunter-gathers and herders. (Similar to the Bedouin) These people range in and out of the various lands of the Alms. For the most part the Wanders are on good terms with the Armalis. However, occasionally some will raid and steal.
Creatures
· The plains hold a wide variety of animals, Antelop, Wildebeest, Lions, Jaguars, Warthogs, Monkeys, and all animals typical of the Savanah.
· The Sleepers. Very, very few people know of the sleepers. These are an ancient race that saw themselves as the caretakers of the lands. However, over time their numbers dwindled and they were not able to watch over the lands as well. So they chose various parts of the land and went to sleep (they now appear as roughly hewn stone statues - up to 5 few tall) According to some they will awaken from time to time restore or to tend to the land they have chosen to guard over. Serafima knows that any objects near the Sleepers will have more potent properties. The land near the Sleepers is always green, there is always a water source (clean).
