The Fist of Chal
This order of warrior monks was created in the 114yp. The Ch'elm believed that Chal and his church was being attacked when War leader Arm'aji Ur was assassinated by the use of magic. The Ch'elm of the time called for a dedicated group of warriors to come and defend the Church of Chal (TheChurchOfChal) from its enemies. With the emporer's blessing the Ch'elm Ciri'fir uses church money to create a fighting arm of the church. They were given the mandate of fighting and destroying the enemies of Chal and with ensuring that the will of Chal was following in law and in faith.
Cha'zul Irizalar was the first leader of the Fist of Chal. Irizalar was a priest of the Arahji order of Chal. He was the fourth son of a warrior who entered religious life after completing his military training and establishing his record as a leader of men. He entered the Araji in his mid thirties after recieving a vision from Chal. His reputation as a capable leader and military man made him a perfect choice as the founding leader of the Fist of Chal. Irizalar was able to gain title to land and estates from the young Ch'elm. He also acquired semi autonomy from the Church of Chal and as a result the Fist of Chal is able to act of its own accord provided that it stays within the bounds of its founding charter. This charter is enshrined in both Church and Pirem law.
As a result of its holdings and climate of religious zeal the Fist of Chal grew very quickly, establishing a visible and permanent presence throughout the empire. At various time the Fist of Chal has been given or has purchased more land as the Empire has expanded.
The Fist of Chal follows the teachings of the Arahji, which were laid down by its founding leader. The Fist of Chal ordains its own priests and has a strict interpretation of the teachings of Chal. Currently the Fist is has adopted a dual role of protecting the faithful and ensuring the Empire remains pure in its devotion to Chal. This includes ridding the Empire of heretics, criminals and servants of the Praj.
