Chris Epting: Tajal will be wearing the robe, the slippers and holding the staff
Chris Epting: The Shadow Mage is signing to me in an attempt to talk.
Chris Epting: Based on what I have read I understand he is trying to say ... My goal is one and points to Kitai.
Chris Epting: won not one
Chris Epting: I bring out the writting slate, he reaches for it and I slid it to him.
Chris Epting: I write in water on the slate Truce
Lincoln Silk: A ridiculous notion.
Lincoln Silk: We are not at war.
Lincoln Silk: You are not Fist, nor Silimiri.
Lincoln Silk: You carry magical items.
Chris Epting: I am Aviz'amar
Lincoln Silk: You have a guardian.
Lincoln Silk: One who helped you survive me.
Chris Epting: Yes
Chris Epting: However I am still unsure about the guardian
Lincoln Silk: That was not personal by the way, I thought from your reaction you would be attacking me. And your skills made it feel as though you would.
Lincoln Silk: And yet. You did not attack.
Lincoln Silk: So, I will stop to talk.
Chris Epting: No I have no reason to attack and I look for understanding
Chris Epting: I have come here because my order has asked me to discover what happened here. As well as discover what Kitai was doing
Lincoln Silk: He was meddling with old serpents. And it appears you are as well. Yet I cannot tell what your goals are. His was to aid them.
Lincoln Silk: They will be the death of us.
Chris Epting: Kitai believed that the end of the empire was at hand and that the Dracarn were returning. He wanted to align himself to them and escape the impending destruction,
Chris Epting: We didn't share the same interpretations of the prophecy
Lincoln Silk: Only a fool aligns himself with a hurricane and thinks it will render it harmless.
Chris Epting: There are signs that the second arkabalan prophecy is drawing to a close, however there are still many things that hang in the balance.
Lincoln Silk: Jim Fa Sja alerted us to what is really happening in the South and the East. We may be powerless to stop it, but we won't sit idly by and watch some fool hasten our destruction.
Chris Epting: I am still unsure if Kitai acted by himself or if he was guided/controlled by something else.
Lincoln Silk: He had made contact and was on a mission to gather and then deliver information. We do not know more than that. I gather it had something to do with this place.
Chris Epting: This place and what was or wasn't here was going to give him a sign for what was going to come. Based on his actions he wanted to keep the information secret from everyone.
Chris Epting: He certainly had powers and prayers that members of our order do not recieve
Lincoln Silk: The Aviz'amar have been mostly neutral toward the Sja'jiam. I know you generally investigate and report. What brings you here?
Chris Epting: Kitai knew that this tomb contained a servant of the Dracarn called He Who Waits. He Who Waits would be awoken/restored at sometime useful to the Dracarn. Kitai believed that if he found the tomb empty it would be a sign that the Dracarn are in a position to return.
Lincoln Silk: It appears to be empty.
Chris Epting: I agree
Chris Epting: I also believe that he was looking for written evidence of what He Who Waits would do or would be called to do.
Chris Epting: I have not had the chance to study the tomb
Lincoln Silk: It was cleverly constructed. As long as there was earth covering the stones, no trace of the magic within was detectable.
Lincoln Silk: It is time to have a look at what your fellow priest was hiding under those robes.
Chris Epting: Agreed
Chris Epting: I will go and search Kitai
Lincoln Silk: Be careful of the insects.
Chris Epting: Thank you
Chris Epting: I cast detect magic on Kitai and detect some magic below his right ribs
Chris Epting: I gingerly search Kitai
Chris Epting: In his side I see a hole which is oozing. Inside the hole are three larvae (one is a grub, a slightly larger, the third is an almost fully formed nasty dragon flyish insect.
Chris Epting: I haven't seen this before.
Lincoln Silk: This is worrisome. He must have made contact, or something contacted him and he entered some kind of agreement already. He released two of these insects as messengers while I was following him. He used one to kill a deer for his meals.
Chris Epting: Can you use your skills to determine a link to something or someone?
Lincoln Silk: I guess there is no going back on a deal with these serpents.
Lincoln Silk: No. The insect is not linked to anything other than this man's body.
Chris Epting: I am wondering which serpents, or this there a third party. is there a way to track the insects or determine where they are going?
Lincoln Silk: I do not have a way.
Chris Epting: Can you safely destroy them?
Lincoln Silk: So. What do you know of He Who Waits. Is he on the side of the serpents?
Lincoln Silk: I must leave soon.
Chris Epting: He Who Waits was a slavet bound to serve the Dracarn. He was one of their more powerful overseers of their slaves. Based on my research he is not on their side.
Lincoln Silk: Hmmm. Once a slave...
Lincoln Silk: He may not have a choice.
Chris Epting: If you are willing destroy these insects
Lincoln Silk: Still no answers.
Chris Epting: I would like to search this tomb
Chris Epting: I need to get Kitai out of here to do so
Lincoln Silk: I recommend your torch for the insects. And quickly. That one is about to hatch.
Chris Epting: I will burn the insects
Lincoln Silk: I will leave you in peace. My name is Kokosja. I hope to meet you again.
Chris Epting: Thank you. I am Tajal Izlijah of the Aviz'amar
Chris Epting: He climbs outside and collapse into a shadow and moves in a blink of the eye across the landscape.
Chris Epting: the insects are dead and Kitai is outside the tomb
