Pirem Calendar
The Pir'em Calendar is the offical calendar used throughout the empire. There are other calendars in existence, but are not offically used. The Pir'em Calendar is based on the traditional Milar calendar that was in exsistence prior to the revelations of TheProphet.
The first year of the Pir'em Calendar is set for the year when TheProphet received the Revelations of Chal. The designation yp stands for years of the prophet. Events that occur prior to the Revelations of Chal are designated as ybp - years before the prophet.
The Pir'em Calendar has 365 days. There are four months that are 91 days long
• Jasil'a'mazi - The season of Lamps (winter)
• Zaral'a'mazi - The Season of the Lamb (spring)
• Lirar'a'mazi - The Season of Honey (summer)
• Vazir'a'mazi - The Season of Harvest (autumn).
The beginning of each year is marked by Casal, Chals Gift. This celebration always occurs on the winter solstice. This day is not considered to be part of any month and so stands on its own. The festival begins on the winter solstice and day celebrates the receiving the words of Chal through his prophet I'lam Sil'aj.
