Takes place on the 82ndof Lirar'a'mazi in the 372 year
Taval, Drovan and Mahir arrive at the tree. There are vines entwined around it that work their way up to a sheep's skull. The vines slightly protrude from the eye sockets of the skull and occasionally glow and move as if they really could see us. A fresh sheep is entwined within the tree and it is obvious that the vines are feeding on it. Mahir and Taval begin exploring around the base of the tree. Drovan climbed up to the skull and attempted to break it with his axes. Strangely the axes just bounced off as if the skulls were more resilient than hard brittle bone. Much to his surprise, the vines sprayed him with acid, knocking him out of the tree. He fell hard and lost consciousness. At that moment, vines snaked out of the nearby trees and wrapped themselves around the ankles of Mahir and Taval attempting to drag them into the woods where their murder would be assured.
A short while later, after a struggle in which they were dragged by the vines, seared by acidic sap, and poisoned, they manage to subdue the tree. After a short rest to recover they enter the forest following a thick half buried vine that left this tree and went deeper into the forest. The mystery to whose solution they had been charged with solving required moving into the unknown. The green inviting wood now seemed somehow darker and full of malice.
