The Armalis town of Na'ha'lm (TownOfNahalm)
This town is situated on the Northwest corner of the Armalis lands on the Ga'asir Imperial road. The town has a permanent population of 500 people. This number can double in size during the height of the trading season. There are approximately 150 buildings and the town is surrounded by a strong wall.
Just above the town is the Smallkeep Alzari'var (Alzarivar). Na'ha'lm serves as an entry point into the Armalis lands and guards the lands against invaders and the like. It is also a point for merchants to rest and restock supplies. Taxes and tolls are also collected here. The town is also a gathering point for the peasants in the area and serves their needs as well by providing a smithy, a mill, and other services.
Ilisi'imi'Alzari:
He is the governor of the Na'ha'lm and the area as well as the garrison commander of Alzari'var. He is a bondsman to the Armalis family. He is about 60 years old, and has been in charge here for 30 years. He rules with an iron hand and is rightly feared, but is not a cruel man. His hair is going white and his left eye has become cloudy. He has seen a variety of conflicts and challenges and has met those with decisive action, often without the resources other commanders would have required. His wife died last year from consumption. His sons accompanied the Armalis armies south against the forces of Saip. His only grandson, Jaris'imi'Alzari remains at Alzari'var in command of the forces while his grandfather watches over the town.
Hosa'am'ail'Harral
He is the Innkeeper of the Harral's House (Harral was his great, great, grandfather). He is a short potbellied man in his early thirties. He inherited the Inn two years ago, when his parents died in a plague. He is a cautious man who deliberates before making a move. He maintains a clean and honest Inn, nothing fancy, but well priced. His children and wife work in the Inn as do several slaves.
Sam'ir'nar'Ji'ta'em
The innkeeper of the Sam'ir's Emerald. From outward appearances an upscale place, with prices to match. Sam'ir is a man in his middle years and judged to be an attractive and charismatic man, quick with a smile and a bill. He keeps his guests well entertained with song, dance, food and women. His Inn caters to richer merchants. His moniker Ji'ta'em (greatsword) does not refer to his prowess with the weapon.
Zefan'nar'Azori (Azori means smith in Pir'em language).
A man of medium height, whose double chins, heavy jowls, and fat fingers sport numerous scars and burn marks from sparks and cuts. A hard worker, demanding master, and a hard drinker (before, during and after work). He has a large shop, with four apprentices and two journeymen (who do the fine work)
Fa'had'nar'casm
Fa'had is the town's tax collector.
He ensures that all pay the tolls and the taxes. He is a dark skinned man, whose father comes from Ajazar'jilem (the pearl coast) and purchased his freedom from slavery. Fa'had is very diligent in his pursuit of tolls and taxes. His two sons Or'zal and Par'ja help with the tax collection. Four eunuch slaves act as guards.
Ohan'i 'ail'Joriz - wine merchant
He is a wine merchant who makes his home here. He buys wine from a number of growers, namely the Armalis family and exports the wine to other towns and cities. He is the most influential and powerful merchant in this town. He employs any number of guards and workers. His caravans roll out spring, summer, and autumn. He is a tall man of medium build who is extremely loyal to his friends and workers. A very methodical man.
The town has 30 watchmen who guard the gates, walls, and streets. These are not the equal of regular soldiers but serve to keep the peace and repel invaders. These guardsmen are captained by Car'jal, an aging warrior who had retired to this town to live out his days. These guards are directly answerable to Ilisi' imi' Alzari.
