Telal is a large monk who has a golden armband with a carving of an owl on it. This armband, coupled with the magic power of an ancient black wooden staff, can be used to change the wearer into a giant owl. The staff and armband was found in the crypt of the AwakenedOne? during LincolnSilk's campaign, BloodInTheSands.

The first time Telal used these items, he thought he had finally achieved the higher state of Owl-like consciousness that he learned about in the order of the Owl (TheOzaraji?) of which he was a member until it was destroyed and he was enslaved.
