"Whether at Lie'lm r or Babylon,
Whether the Cup with sweet or bitter run,
The Wine of Life keeps oozing drop by drop,
The Leaves of Life keep falling one by one.
Having gotten some sleep, Sjer can now attempt to find out if any of the things down here are magical. Only the large table appears to have any magical properties. It is a very old table and gives off a steady aura of magic. All of the other trinkets and weapons are non-magical. The rats are now starting to wear through the door that leads outside. The two men that turned into rats are scrabbling at a hole that they had disappeared into earlier. The only thing holding them at bay is the table and some chests that we had moved to block that hole.
The morning sun still lies an hour away. At Sjer's suggestion we corner ourselves on the ledge with the large chest. After a little pause we realize that suicide would be a quicker but no less sure a way to die.
Sjer makes a foray up the tunnel that we found near the pile of bones and finds an escape route of sorts. He heads back to get the others just as the door from above breaks and the rats come pouring in. We all make it down and up the tunnel with the items we decided to take from that place. We exit out the small hole and Afalar manages to collapse the tunnel thereby closing off the access the rats had to us.
We have brought all of the papers we had found with us as well as four bottles of wine.
We go off exploring in the caverns to find a way out. There are quite a few tunnels and it is obvious that it floods in here because it is still wet from the last flood. We assume it happens when the river runs high. We find two areas where the tunnel reaches the water. Afalar with a little help from Sjer explores the two tunnels. They both end up in what we assume is the underground sewers, or an aqueduct of some sort. But down one tunnel is also an entrance to a man-made structure which includes a bridge.
We all sleep exhaustedly for 8 hours.
In the morning we swim to where the bridge is. Afalar dispatches Alazar on the way through the tunnel.
On the bridge is written,
"The tiger god welcomes its champions, its heroes, its great ones, and invites them to journey over the river to the next life."
We have gone to explore and examine this area. We find some stairs that go up to a smooth stone lid over top of the exit.
Going the other way we get to a stone bridge that has four pillars, each with a stone tiger on it. The inscriptions are in the Ur'mara language from the Empire of the Tiger.
We cross over the bridge and come to a large set of doors. The door is made of copper. There is the symbol of each moon on the doors and in each moon is the symbol of the tiger.
