A Sampling of the OrzanProphecies
Listen,
I have heard the Ashani weeping
weeping for their children
I have watched the Ashani watch in horror
the horror of betrayal
I have heard how the Tiger seduces
seduces with sweet promises
I have witnessed the betrayal of our people
tribe against tribe
I have smelled the trail of death
to the land of stones
I felt the pain of starvation, the ache of thirst
a people wasting away I was scorched by the loneliness of the Ashani
removed from purpose
I know the despair of shame, unfulfilled honour
to weak to return.
Shawnal do not despair, the ancestors have whispered hope. I have seen the moving star that will lead us back.
At the appointed time the Orzan will call
The tribes will gather first one, then all
Speared in confusion the enemy will fall
The old will be honoured above the wall
Many will claim the mantle of Orzan
All but one will be a fragile man
In a time of war a foreign lord
A false Orzan slain by a sword
The tigers spirit he will hold
A glittering heritage of gold
A bound beast he will keep
Guarded by steel that does not sleep
Fire will be his to command
The black sun flown in the sand
His song will bring us peace
His voice the Ashani release.
